Is Cambridge Classics for you?

For students considering applying to Cambridge,  the best thing to do is see it first-hand at the University Open Days.

To find out more about applying to Cambridge and studying Classics at University come to one of the Cambridge University open days, this year on the 5th and 6th of July 2018. The days draw more than 8,000 students.

Alongside the University events, the Classics Faculty puts on a specific talk about studying Classics at Cambridge, a session for the parents of potential Classics students, a sample lecture which helps you find out what it’s like to study Classics here, and a stall where potential students can get personalised information and advice from Classics lecturers and students.

This year we will be holding our Introduction to the Ancient World at A-Level study day the day before (Wed 4 July) so please consider coming a day early and staying over in Cambridge. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide accommodation for applicants however some of the Colleges may be able to help with accommodation if you contact them.

Please remember that these are separate events. The Cambridge Open Days must be booked separately via the University’s Undergraduate Study website. 

Classics at Cambridge - University Open Days 5th and 6th July (provisional timetable)

An information stand about Classics will be running all day (10:00-16:00) in the Faculty of Law.  Students and lecturers will be here to answer any individual questions you may have about the course.

14:30-15:15  Course presentation (Classics at Cambridge)
14:30 – 15:15 Talk for parents and supporters of potential Classics students
15:30-16:15  Sample Classics lecture
The Museum of Classical Archaeology, upstairs from the main foyer of the Faculty of Classics, will be open to visit all day, both days.

 The Faculty of Classics and the Faculty of Law are both on the Sidgwick Site, between Sidgwick Avenue and West Road, Cambridge.  The Faculty of Classics overlooks Sidgwick Avenue, and its postcode is CB3 9DA.
