Is Classics for you?

If you’re going to be studying Classics at a very high level for three or four years it’s obviously really important that you think you would enjoy the subject! So it is well worth spending some time before applying thinking about what really interests you.

What is it about the Ancient World that you find particularly fascinating? Are you excited by the prospect of learning Latin and Greek well enough to be able to read texts in the original languages?  What made you think about studying Classics in the first place? Having some thoughts about your answers to these questions will help you decide whether Classics at Cambridge is right for you and will help you in the application process itself.

As the University Admissions Website puts it: “Instead of selecting the course you think you ought to do, think about which course and subject area(s) you’re most enthused and inspired about studying for the next few years.”
